X Real Estate Group Founder & CEO Louis Cotrone has joined the Board of the Italian Football League and serves as Corporate Partnerships Manager, helping develop strategic commercial relationships between the IFL, the United States, Italy and the broader Italian-American business community.
Long before joining the Italian Football League in a business capacity, Cotrone experienced Italian football from the field.
Following his NCAA Division I football career at Marist College, Cotrone continued his playing career professionally in Italy with the Giaguari Torino and later represented the Italian National Team.
After returning to New York, Cotrone built X Real Estate Group around many of the same principles that shaped his athletic career: preparation, relationships, systems, execution and long-term thinking.
Today, that journey has come full circle.
Cotrone's appointment to the IFL Board brings his experience in entrepreneurship, commercial real estate, business development, hospitality, retail and technology-enabled relationship origination back to the sport and country that played an important role in his career.
As Corporate Partnerships Manager, Cotrone's focus extends beyond traditional sponsorship sales. His mandate centers on identifying and developing relationships where sports, business, media, culture and international commerce intersect.
CORPORATE PARTNERSHIPS
Identifying and developing relationships with companies seeking meaningful connections to the Italian Football League and the continued growth of American football in Italy.
U.S.–ITALY BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Creating new connections between Italian companies, American companies and the Italian-American business community.
STRATEGIC ACTIVATION
Developing customized partnership concepts around league content, events, digital media, hospitality, experiences and brand objectives.
RELATIONSHIP ORIGINATION
Leveraging networks across sports, business, real estate, hospitality, entrepreneurship and the Italian-American community to create new opportunities and long-term relationships.
The Italian Football League is evolving beyond a traditional sports league into a modern platform connecting football, content, live events, business, entertainment and international relationships.
The continued international expansion of American football, the growth of flag football, increasing interest in the Italian market and expanding connections between Italy and the United States are creating new opportunities for companies seeking to establish meaningful positions within the sport.
The IFL provides a unique platform at the center of that evolution—bringing together Italy's leading American football clubs, athletes, fans, institutions, media and commercial partners.
The same philosophy that drives X Real Estate Group now extends into international sports business:
Identify the opportunity. Understand the stakeholders. Build the right relationships. Create the right structure. Execute.
Through X Real Estate Group, Cotrone has built a career around commercial real estate, strategic advisory, market intelligence, business development and relationship origination.
His work with the Italian Football League applies that experience to a different arena—using relationships, strategy, technology and targeted execution to develop corporate partnerships and international commercial opportunities.
Different industry. Same operating philosophy.
The Italian Football League is Italy's premier American football competition and an emerging platform connecting sport, content, events, business and entertainment.
The 2027 IFL season is scheduled to feature 10 teams, 45 regular-season games, four playoff games and the Italian Bowl, supported by a year-round calendar of events and commercial activation opportunities.
The League's commercial materials identify an estimated 15+ million views, an estimated 2.5 million American football fans in Italy, more than 100 affiliated clubs across the broader FIDAF ecosystem, and content distribution spanning Europe and the Americas.
The IFL's digital platform is also expanding internationally, with the United States already representing 19.7% of its Instagram audience, alongside continued growth across social media and streaming.
The IFL develops customized partnership programs designed around the individual objectives, markets and activation strategies of its corporate partners.
Opportunities can extend across league content, digital media, live events, hospitality, experiences, brand integrations and other strategic commercial assets, subject to availability and league approval.

“Some of the best and most meaningful years of my life were spent playing football in Italy, and the relationships and experiences I gained through the Italian Football League have stayed with me throughout my career. I believe strongly in the vision, growth and potential of the IFL and what Andrea Fimiani, Chief Business Officer, Edoardo Cammi, Chief Operating Officer, Commissioner Justin Pugh and the entire Board are building for the future of the league. I’m incredibly excited to return in this new capacity and leverage my experience in business and corporate development to build meaningful partnerships that can help grow the IFL, strengthen the connection between Italy and the United States, and continue expanding the game of American football in Italy and beyond.”
